Nominations aux Grammy Awards 2014 : Jay Z, Justin Timberlake et Macklemore en tête

Vendredi soir, de nombreux artistes étaient réunis pour le concert d'annonce des nominations aux prochains Grammy Awards. La cérémonie se tiendra le 26 janvier et permettra à la National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences de récompenser les artistes qui se sont illustrés tout au long de l'année. Et une fois encore, l'Académie a fait preuve de son ouverture aux titres et artistes populaires, offrant notamment à trois des plus gros hits de l'année une place dans la catégorie chanson de l'année : "Get Lucky" de Daft Punk, "Royals" de Lorde et l'inévitable "Blurred Lines" de Robin Thicke, single le plus vendu de l'année outre-Atlantique avec 6,3 millions d'unités téléchargées. L'Académie n'a en revanche pas hésité à nommer l'hymne gay-friendly "Same Love" de Macklemore et Ryan Lewis plutôt que leurs deux plus gros hit, "Thrift Shop" et "Can't Hold Us".

En termes de nominations, c'est Jay Z qui s'en sort le mieux. Le roi du rap américain est nommé dans neuf catégories mais uniquement dans la section rap, à l'exception de son duo avec Justin Timberlake sur "Suit & Tie". Ce dernier était pressenti dans la catégorie album de l'année avec "The 20/20 Experience", mais l'Académie ne l'a finalement intégré que dans la catégorie album pop, préférant laisser la place à Sara Bareilles et Kendrick Lamar, qui affronteront Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Daft Punk, dont le "Random Access Memories" pourrait offrir aux Français un prix très prestigieux, ainsi que Taylor Swift. La chanteuse américaine est, comme souvent, très bien représentée et pourrait voir "Red" être élu album de l'année et album country de l'année. Ses singles pop n'ont en revanche pas suffisamment séduit l'Académie, et ses autres nominations figurent toutes dans les catégories country.
