MTV VMA 2020, le palmarès complet : Lady Gaga grande gagnante, BTS triomphe

Une soirée de rentrée événement. Ce dimanche, les MTV VMA (Video Music Awards) ont donné le la en étant la première grosse cérémonie musicale organisée depuis le confinement. Malgré quelques petits imprévus (déprogrammation d'invités, changement de lieu...), la soirée s'est déroulée sous les meilleures hospices. Et côté palmarès, c'est Lady Gaga qui a raflé la mise. La popstar, venue interpréter un medley de son album "Chromatica", est repartie avec cinq trophées : ceux de l'Artiste de l'année, de la Chanson de l'année, de la Meilleure cinématographie et Collaboration pour "Rain on Me" ainsi que le prix spécial TriCon Award qui lui a été décerné. Ariana Grande profite du sacre de "Rain on Me" pour récupérer trois trophées et en ajouter un quatrième en tant que Clip maison pour "Stuck With U" avec Justin Bieber. L'autre grand gagnant de la soirée est le phénomène BTS. Sacré Groupe de l'année et récompensé pour le clip de "On" (Meilleure vidéo pop, K-pop et Meilleure chorégraphie), le boys band repart donc avec quatre trophées.

The Weeknd et Miley Cyrus font coup double

Néanmoins, "Rain on Me" échoue à remporter le prix le plus prestigieux de Clip de l'année, qui revient à "Blinding Lights" de The Weeknd. La vidéo psychédélique du chanteur canadien lui permet également de remporter le prix de Clip R&B de l'année. Miley Cyrus reçoit elle aussi deux trophées pour "Mother's Daughter" : Meilleure direction artistique et montage. Dans le reste du palmarès des MTV VMA 2020, Coldplay et Maluma repartent respectivement avec le titre de Vidéo rock pour "Orphans" et Clip latino pour "Que Pena". Grâce à son hit "Say So", Doja Cat bat Lewis Capaldi et Yungblud et rafle le prix de Meilleur nouvel artiste. Ajouté à la dernière minute, le prix de la Chanson de l'été revient à "How You Like That" de BLACKPINK.

Nommée à six reprises, Taylor Swift peut avoir le sourire puisqu'elle ne repart pas les mains vides grâce au clip de "The Man" dénonçant le sexisme, sacré Meilleure réalisation. Enfin, Dua Lipa voit sa vidéo de "Physical" être récompensée pour les Meilleurs effets visuels tandis que H.E.R. reçoit son premier MTV VMA Award pour le clip engagé de "I Can't Breathe".
